Outfit: Thanksgiving Dinner

I hope everyone had a fabulous Thanksgiving yesterday! I enjoyed the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade (#ofcourse), and stuffed my face full with turkey, cranberry sauce, and this delicious brussels sprout dish my aunt makes (I know, you're probably thinking eww brussels sprouts, but I swear it's ah-mazing).

Above is the outfit that I wore to Thanksgiving dinner, and all I have to say is that I'm in love with this blue J.Crew sweater! My aunt (different aunt-- not brussels sprouts aunt) got it for me for my birthday and I can't stop wearing it. Also, I had to use my dad's iPhone to take these pictures because my DLSR camera was out of battery, so the pictures are a bit blurry (sorry), and totally don't do the sweater justice.

How was your Thanksgiving?
I'd love to hear from you!

Until Next Time!

I first want to start off by saying that I wish everyone had a fantastic long weekend, and for those who have schools as nice as mine and have today off as well, I hope you enjoy your EXTRA long weekend! A few days ago, I went out for some brunch with my mom and brother, and naturally I opted to doll myself up more than I needed to. For this outfit, I threw a cashmere turtleneck over one of my favorite black dresses, which I actually do quite frequently. I find that it's a great way to utilize the bottoms of my dresses, as well as make them a bit more casual. It's also an easy way to double the amount of options for the bottoms of my outfits. Additionally, I tied a scarf that I found at an antique shop around my Longchamp bag, as I feel it gives a personal touch to a bag that's widely beloved.

How was your long weekend? Do anything fun?

Outfit: If Sporty and Posh Spice Had a Baby...

This past weekend was my mom's birthday!! Unfortunately, I had to work on the day of her actual birthday, so in order to make that up, I made it my mission to get her the best birthday present imaginable (I think I came pretty darn close!). I ended up getting her these pretty earrings I found at Nordstrom that she seems to like, as she's worn them a couple times so far, so that's a good sign!

In going shopping, though, I decided to spice up my outfit. Sometimes I find that I tend to slack in the fashion department during the school week, as my focus sometimes shifts from looking cute to getting the required hours of sleep each night. I tried to add some sporty elements to the outfit with my dad's sports-watch and my Adidas "Stan Smith" tennis shoes, and in the end, I felt like a mix of Sporty and Posh Spice. Not a bad thing in my book!

Outfit: Farmer's Market Fun

8/20/2014

There are few things more pleasant than a farmer's market on a Saturday morning, when you get past the waking up early on a Saturday of course!

A few days ago my mother, sister, and I ventured to our local farmer's market with only sixteen dollars in our pockets, and ended up having a blast looking at all of the great, delicious things our local shops had to offer. One of my all-time favorite stands at our farmer's market is the cheese stand. They sell this basil-mozzarella concoction that is seriously to die for. Some of my other favorite destinations include our local bakery (of course), which always has melt-in-your-mouth chocolate chip cookies, and the fresh produce stand (nothing like organic, ripe-red tomatoes!).

I know summer is almost at its close, but I highly encourage everyone, if they haven't yet, to head on down to a nearby farmer's market for some fun local flavor and delicious fare!

Outfit: Brother's Birthday Bash

7/22/2014

One of my favorite parts about birthdays is that it provides the opportune time to get dolled up, a nice diversion from my everyday oversized t-shirt and running-short attire. This week we celebrated my brother's 14th birthday (I thought he was much older...yikes) with mouth-watering tortilla chips and steak tacos at a local Mexican restaurant and capped off the night with some delicious frozen yogurt. I tried to channel my inner Kate Hudson with my lip color (see earlier post) albeit it's a little bit lighter, and also took some inspiration from the Dolce and Gabbana Fall/Winter 2014 collection for my outfit. I really wish birthdays occurred more often because they are seriously so much fun! No doubt I'll be dreaming of the restaurant's amazing  guacamole tonight.

Outfit: A Day in Crochet

I'M BACCKKKK!! I know, I know, it's been quite some time since my last blog about my trip to the Vampire Weekend concert and I'm extremely sorry that I haven't been posting more frequently, but the beginning of my summer has been hectic to say the least. For the first part of the summer I was in the northern woods of Wisconsin, which was beautiful, but wifi was incredibly limited and blogging for Girl on the Verge was near impossible (I tried!). Along with that, work  and my college search has been an absolute pain in the rear, leaving me with little to no free time to do what I truly want to do, which is to blog.

Having said that, we can now get into the fun stuff! The outfit below is one that I am TRULY in love with, and was what I wore to my sister's 20th birthday dinner. I love the pop of emerald green against the white and gold accents; definitely going to be repeating this outfit again. I hope you guys enjoy it as well, hope everyone is having a great summer, and I'll be seeing ya real soon!

Outfit: Those Winter Blues

2/15/2014

This past weekend, the forecast for my hometown was snow, snow, oh and more snow (why am I even surprised at this point?). Seeing as though I had been sitting inside for the better half of the day, I decided it be a good idea to play dress-up and take some pictures for Girl on the Verge outside in the beautiful falling snow, all "Classy Girls Wear Pearls"-like (which if you don't know is an ah-mazing blog that follows the glamorously-preppy life of Kiel James Patrick and Sarah Vickers; it's definitely something to check out. You'll no-doubt become obsessed!). Anyway, it's safe to say that I'm greatly looking forward to springtime. Hope it's not too bad where you guys are!

Outfit: Tea Time

1/19/2014

For as long as I can remember I've wanted to get dressed up and go to a fancy afternoon tea in the city. Maybe it was the adorable finger fare or the romance of it all, but there always seemed something so luxurious about getting dolled up in your fanciest attire and attending an elegant tea downtown. You can imagine my excitement then, when my aunt decided she would take my sister, mom, cousin, and I to a tea at The Peninsula as a gift for Christmas! Below I've included some of my favorite pics from the evening. I had such a lovely time catching up with my relatives and will be dreaming tonight of these red velvet pastries they served with this to-die-for cream cheese filling.
I could have eaten a million.
