Well ladies and gents, in a few short days it will be October, which means bringing out your cozy, chunky sweaters and favorite-fitting jeans! I love everything about fall (it is my favorite season after all). The colder weather, the falling leaves, the homemade pumpkin soup, Halloween, and of course all of the fall fashion! I've got to say, one of my absolute favorite parts about fall fashion is buying new pieces that give your favorite staples a modern update. And, of course, the first place I tend to head to for my fall shopping needs is J.Crew. Below I've included some of my favorite pieces that I'm coveting most for my fall wardrobe! Enjoy and have a great Monday!! via

First of all, I would like to say that I'm really sorry for posting this so late in the day, but this morning I had to wake up super early for my last golf tournament as a high schooler (tear, tear), and after all was said and done, we didn't get back until pretty late. I will say in the car ride home, Fleetwood Mac's "Landslide" came on the radio, and I almost lost it. It's so strange to think that I won't be playing high school golf anymore, and that that chapter of my life has now officially ended. Weird. Something else that's shifted in recent years is having had my sister away from me. She's gone off to college, and I've stayed in high school (below is a pic from her high school graduation). And now it feels like she's worlds away from me, (because she essentially is) as she's studying this semester abroad. Keeping in contact over seas is 10 times harder than when she went to school only 6 hours from home. Right as she's waking up, I'm about to fall asleep. It's hard, but honestly it's worth it, because from what I can tell from the pictures I've seen, it seems like she's living it up (the other day she and her friends visited the Eiffel Tower #jealous). I guess these types of changes, though, are only a precursor to what's to come with my senior year of high school, so I've got to get ready! Have a great rest of your Saturday, a fantastic Sunday as well!!
Until Next Time! M. Happy Friday everyone!! This week has definitely been a busy one, and I am so relieved to finally say, "Thank goodness it's friday!" Recently, I've been trying to read up on some new blogs, specifically blogs whose creator is close to the same age as me, and in doing so I've come across my new latest obsession: Citrus and Style. Written by a high school junior, Caroline (the creator of Citrus and Style) is equally stylish as she is dedicated to her charming blog. One click and you'll be transported to website full of cheery pink and orange hues, as well as informative posts on health, style, and living life on the bright side. Yet above all this, one of the the biggest things that makes Citrus and Style so appealing to me is that Caroline seems super genuine in her posts, and I can tell just by reading that she truly loves to blog, which is always nice to see as a fellow blogger. Additionally, it's nice to be able to relate to a blogger whose also making their way through the trials and tribulations of high school, and everything that comes with it (sports practices, dances, etc.). Caroline's Citrus and Style is a constant reminder that if you truly love something, you can always make time for it. I highly recommend you check it out!! via
Who are some of your favorite teen bloggers! Comment below, I'd love to hear from you!! Until Next Time! M. What's there to say about Audrey Hepburn that hasn't already been said? She's elegant, sophisticated, charitable...the list goes on (I promise this entire post isn't going to be me ranting on to you guys about how much I love Audrey Hepburn, for I'm sure you can find a million other blogs here on the world wide web that have done so). But I think by now we can all agree that Audrey Hepburn is pretty amazing! The other day I was bored, so I decided to see what there was to watch on Netflix (per usual), and I came across the 1957 film Funny Face staring Fred Astaire and Audrey Hepburn herself. I don't want to spoil the movie for you guys, but all I'll say is that it involves fashion, romance, and Paris. What could be better? I highly suggest that you guys see it, as I found it was nice to see Audrey Hepburn in something other than the cult classic, Breakfast at Tiffany's. Below is a picture of Audrey dancing in her iconic all-black outfit from the movie! What are some other Audrey Hepburn movies you've seen that you'd recommend?
Comment below!! Until Next Time! M. How's everyone on this lovely HUMP DAY (I will seriously never get over this commercial)!! So as you guys have probably seen all over the news/internet, last Sunday, Emma Watson (now a UN Goodwill Ambassador) delivered a moving speech to the UN regarding the seemingly ongoing discussion of gender equality, in which, she highlighted the key issues surrounding the significance of women being treated equal to men. Of her entire speech, two points that most prominently stood out to me were 1) her declaration that the term feminist is not a bad word, and only implies that men and women should have "equal rights and opportunities" (discarding the stereotype that feminists want down with all men), and 2) her notion that the fight for gender equality should not only be fought solely by women, but must be attacked by men as well. In order to promote this idea of men fighting for gender equality in addition to women, Emma initiated the #HeforShe campaign in which men are able to show their support for women's equality. Many male celebrities have already flocked to social media and have showed their support. Like Emma, I too believe that women's equality is an important topic of discussion. Too often I feel that people don't want to talk about gender equality because the negative stigma surrounding the subject is too great. The way I see it, there's nothing bad or dirty about wanting the same opportunities as men, or wanting to be treated equally and fairly. In fact, I think it's a pretty simple concept when you get down to it. I'm sorry that this post is a little longer, and I promise I don't mean to be controversial or anything of the sort with this post. Whatever your view on gender equality may be, I think that this is a really important video to watch. Thanks for bearing with me!! Until Next Time!
M. Hey guys! Hope everyone is having a great start to their week!! Lately, I've noticed that I've been getting pretty stressed out with school, college applications, and golf, and I ultimately end up feeling overextended in my responsibilities. So far, my senior year of high school has not been the breeze-of-a-year that people make it out to be! In order to remedy this, I've found that going on my tumblr when I come home from my school's golf practice has helped me to relax my mind for a few minutes (this "few minutes" part is key, because staying on Tumblr for hours can DEFINITELY lead to even more stress!!). Then, after this period of relaxation, I make a list of whatever I need to get done and do it! This method has seemed to work for me, and if anyone is struggling with juggling their responsibilities, I would absolutely try it! Below are some of my latest tumbles that have helped me to relax. I'm always looking for new Tumblrs to follow!!
Do you have a Tumblr or any Tumblrs that you enjoy following? Comment below!! Until Next Time! M. BaubleBar, for those who still don't know, is a GREAT website for trendy and affordably priced jewelry, and since I love accessorizing, this place is my one-stop-shop for all of my jewelry needs. Below I've included a few BaubleBar pieces that I'm currently obsessed with, and need right now in my hands (ahh if only it were that easy)! Lately, I've been taking a break from my usual over-sized, statement-wearing-jewelry-self, and have instead opted for more delicate pieces. I think the look of layering a few delicate necklaces is a super chic way of staying stylish, without shouting it out to the world (a message I find a lot of my oversized, statement necklaces give off). And don't get me wrong, I love the look of a statement necklace as much as the next girl, I really do. I guess I find that delicate pieces are easier to wear to school, where I try to look fashionable in a more understated way. via 1. Third Eye Pendant, $32 / 2. Solid Bar Pendant, $32 / 3. Until Next Time! M. A few months ago my family and I had the pleasure of welcoming Goose into our lives, our new German Short-haired Pointer puppy!! It has definitely taken some getting use to, but I can't imagine Goose not in my life today. And although he's pretty obedient now (jk he's still pretty crazy), I can promise you it was even more overwhelming at the start, and so, I decided to make a list of 5 helpful tips that I wish someone would have told me before getting a puppy! Hope this is helpful to anyone who, like me and my family, is dealing with a 3 month-old pup or who is getting a puppy in the near future! 1. Be patient.
I cannot express this enough. Puppies are just like toddlers: they mean well, but sometimes their rambunctiousness can get the best of them, and can ultimately get them into trouble. Puppies are still young and still learning, so if they don't roll over and play fetch within the first few weeks, don't get frustrated! Be patient, they'll get it eventually. 2. Repetition is key. Repetition is key. To repeat myself, puppies are learning and therefore, they might make a few (okay maybe a ga-zillion) mistakes before figuring out what's right and what's wrong. For the best results from your pup, try to repeat the same word, coupled with the same sound/tone over and over again. For example, when Goose does something right, I'll give a high-pitched, "Good job Goose!!". Conversely, if he ever does something bad, I'll give a quick, stern "No!". Providing repetition allows for puppies to better distinguish between right and wrong. 3. ALWAYS bring a poop bag! I have admittedly learned this lesson one too many times. Even if you think that your dog just pooped, and there could therefore be no possible way that he would need to go again anytime soon, bring the bag. You do NOT want to be that girl (#me) who has to walk all the way home to grab a bag, and then trudge all the way back again to the scene of the crime. Just bring a bag, maybe even two! Trust me. 4. Buy tons of toys. Puppies LOVE, and I mean love chew toys, so make sure to buy multiple! Chew toys are seriously so helpful, as they can distract your pup from chewing on more valuable objects (Goose chewed a big hole in my L.L. Bean duck boots #sadface). Also, puppies can go through numerous chew toys in a day if they're feeling up to it, so make sure to buy a whole bunch so that you won't run out. 5. Savor Puppy-Hood While it Lasts! Although Goose is still consider a puppy, there's nothing quite like those first few days of having a teeny, baby puppy in your midst; you know the ones that are small enough to hold in your arms! Take lots of pictures because they certainly don't stay that size forever!! This past weekend was my mom's birthday!! Unfortunately, I had to work on the day of her actual birthday, so in order to make that up, I made it my mission to get her the best birthday present imaginable (I think I came pretty darn close!). I ended up getting her these pretty earrings I found at Nordstrom that she seems to like, as she's worn them a couple times so far, so that's a good sign! In going shopping, though, I decided to spice up my outfit. Sometimes I find that I tend to slack in the fashion department during the school week, as my focus sometimes shifts from looking cute to getting the required hours of sleep each night. I tried to add some sporty elements to the outfit with my dad's sports-watch and my Adidas "Stan Smith" tennis shoes, and in the end, I felt like a mix of Sporty and Posh Spice. Not a bad thing in my book! dress {similar} / turtleneck {similar}/ shoes / coat {similar} / bag {similar} / watch {similar} / sunglasses {similar} Until Next Time! M. As New York fashion week draws to a close, I thought I'd share with you guys one of my favorite shows of the week which, besides the Ralph Lauren 4D show (which was freakin' amazing!!), would be Michael Kors' Spring/Summer 2015 collection. Michael typically crushes it with his designs for fashion week, but this runway in particular was something uniquely special. I loved the collection's preppy vibes, and his use of florals on the runway were utter perfection (can we talk about that white-flowered floral skirt?!). I found these pictures taken by Nina Westervelt for the New York Times' T Magazine, and thought they perfectly encapsulated the beauty of this collection. What was your guy's favorite New York fashion week show? I'd love to know!! *images via Nina Westervelt for T Magazine Until Next Time!
