The 2014 Emmys were this past Monday (the last time they were held on a Monday was sometime in the 70s-crazy!!), and as always there were a few standout garments that I could not stop thinking about. Below I've included these ensembles and my thoughts on each one, why I love them so much, etc.
I hope everyone is having a great Labor Day weekend, and stay tuned, I have some great posts to come!!

Emmy Fashion
This was by far one of my favorite looks of the night. I haven't really been a fan lately of the crop-top dress, as it feels a little been there, done that. However, the color and proportions of this ensemble are spot-on and Sarah's styling (ballerina bun, warm makeup, gorg bow earrings), make this outfit something truly special.
You can always expect some sort of fashion risk when Kerry Washington is on the red carpet, and that's why I love watching her. And while some may say this dress was a total fashion miss, I think it's quite lovely and rather chic. I commend her for wearing orange (as I think I've tried almost a billion times to do so, and I've never been able to work it), and I additionally love how she matched the gun-metal blue of her sparkly slip-like detail to the color of her eyeshadow. Another "W" in Kerry Washington's book as far as I'm concerned.
Taylor Schilling looked radiant in this Zuhair Murad number last Monday on the Emmy red carpet. And although I must say that her dress of choice may not have been the most daring or unique of the night, her ear cuff gave the entire look a much needed edge that made Taylor's look truly noteworthy.
America's "sweetheart", Julia Roberts looked utterly sophisticated and gorgeous on the Emmy red carpet wearing Elie Saab Couture. I loved how she went with a short dress for the Emmys (only a select few can pull that off), showing off her killer legs, 'cause hey, if you've got 'em, flaunt 'em. The only thing that I didn't like so much about the outfit were her shoes; I would've liked to see a more modern, less clunky shoe. But besides that, Julia looked like a star!
I took a fancy to Lizzy Caplan and her black and white dress of choice for the Emmys. I thought the silhouette of the dress was timeless, and her styling, especially that low bun, were right on the money. Janis Ian looks all grown up and absolutely lovely.
I think Sofia looked stunning in this mermaid dress by Roberto Cavalli, and although this dress isn't my favorite of all time, I believe the way in which Sofia wore this garment made it all the more beautiful. Sofia made the dress, the dress didn't make her, which is something I think we can all aspire to!
And the award for the world's most jaw-dropping, gorgeous couple goes to these two!! When Matthew and Camila are on a red carpet together, it's like nothing else. They always look chic, always look put together, and always look beautiful. Bravo, brava!
