This past Friday I had the very memorable experience of attending Lollapalooza, a three-day music festival in Chicago. And while I've attended various summer concerts in the past, I can say with absolute certainty that I have never been to one of Lollapalooza's size, grandeur, and/or overall hot, sticky, sweaty chaos.
All I can say is that, well, it was quite the experience.
I undoubtedly knew going into it that there were going to be those people high off any number of illegal substances, but I don't think I fully prepared myself for what I saw. Not that I'm judging anyone or anything like that, because I fully believe that everyone is entitled to make their own decisions on how they want to live their own lives, but sometimes when you see people so immensely out-of-control of their bodies that they can't function properly, even on the most basic of levels, is when I began to become worried for their own individual health.
Other than that, though, I had a rather fantastic time! The concerts were to-die (I saw Eminem, and Rihanna made a surprise appearance that made everyone in the crowd lose their partied-out minds). But without-a-doubt one of my favorite parts of the day, of course, was seeing all of the Lollapalooza attendees' fashion. I loved looking at everyone's varying takes on festival attire; some went a little more wacky with their looks, while others kept it classic and channeled their inner boho goddess, thus making my Lollapalooza experience a treat not only for the ears, but for the eyes as well.
Unfortunately I forgot to bring my phone to the festival, so instead of my own photos, I decided to include some of my favorites from refinery29.com below. Aren't they just adorable?
